Interested in Personal Growth? Our Favourite Self-Help Books

If you’re interested in personal growth, then you’re probably familiar with self-help books. We’d love to hear which are your favourites, and also share some of ours.

There are so many self-help books out there, it can be difficult choosing what to read next. While that’s true, and everyone’s taste is different, there are some books that stand out and which we believe everyone should read at some point in their lives.

Some of Our Favourite Personal Growth / Self-Help Books

These are probably our top 3 books in this field.

personal growth books

Rich Dad, Poor Dad – Robert T Kyosaki. What the rich teach their kids about money that the poor and middle class do not!

An all-time best seller for good reason, this book will help you think differently about income & assets. The updated version, 20 years on, shows which of the author’s original ideas and suggestions have stood the test of time.

Atomic Habits – James Clear. An easy & proven way to build good habits & break bad ones.

We are great advocates for making many small changes that cumulatively build and lead to big results. This book is perfect if you think the same way, and that it’s what you do on a daily basis that makes you successful (or not), not what you don’t do.

The Diary of a CEO: The 33 Laws of Business and Life – Steven Bartlett

This book is really inspirational, and we particularly recommend the audible version. Steven will introduce you to, in his words, “a set of principles that can stand the test of time, apply to any industry, and be used by anyone who is search of building something great or becoming someone great.” We can’t say more than that. Definitely worth a read.

How Do you Read Yours?

Some people like physical books, some prefer e-readers such as Kindle. But we’re finding recently that listening to audio books is the best way to make sure we read more. Like listening to podcasts rather than watching videos, listening to your book leaves you free to carry out other tasks at the same time.

We both have Amazon Audible subscriptions, which is our preferred way of listening to our books. Have you tried Audible? If not, do check it out because not only can you download all the e-Books you buy, you also get 1 free audiobook each month.

At the time of writing, here’s what you get with your membership

You get unlimited listening to thousands of select Audible Originals and podcasts as well as audiobooks. Plus there are some great exclusive member-only deals.

Boost your Personal Growth with Self-Help Audiobooks

Right now, you can get 3 months of Audible for just 99p, which we think is a bargain! When it renews in month 4, you pay the current fee of £7.99/month. Considering this entitles you to a free book every month – as well as access to podcasts and Audible Originals (see Amazon for further details) – it’s great value.

You can cancel your membership anytime, so you’re not tied into any lengthy contracts. (Remember to cancel before the end of your third month if you don’t want to extend beyond the 99p trial, although Amazon do helpfully send you a reminder.)
