How To Make Positive Changes In Your Life

Are you ready to make positive changes in your life but you’re not quite sure how to go about it?

We can often feel like we’re stuck in a rut. Perhaps we’re in situations that are making us unhappy but we lack the drive or inspiration to make the necessary changes to get out of them. We may not even be able to put our finger on what it is we actually desire.

Examining Our Lives

Examining our lives from different angles can help us clarify our purpose. Some examples of these are our family and friends, health, profession, wealth, location, etc. To get started making the changes we need to, we can rate how we feel about each of these aspects of our lives. One way to do this is to use a scale from 1-10, with 1 being worst and 10 being the best. Using the Wheel of Life (image shown below) can be useful for this exercise. Having identified the lowest-scoring sections, we can then begin planning improvements.

Once we have identified our desired outcome, we can begin to zero-in on the specific actions required to achieve it. It’s important to bear in mind that even if someone isn’t satisfied with their current situation, it could be what they thought they really wanted or desired. It just hasn’t delivered the desired results.

Being Positive About the Present

In addition, it’s vital to understand and value the way things are right now. A positive outlook can speed up the process of reaching our goals. (We’ll be sharing more about ‘living in gratitude’ in future articles.)

Likewise, it’s beneficial to associate with others who share our goals. A group of like-minded people can provide a source of inspiration and encouragement.

Keep Going

The person who fails to achieve success is typically the one who gives up before the finish line. Resolve is crucial. Think about the 700 times Thomas Edison failed before he invented the light bulb. There are times when we just have to keep going and not give up, regardless of what our minds are telling us.

If you or someone you know needs some extra inspiration to reach your goals, a life coach could be an option. They may be able to help you figure out what it is you want and identify the necessary steps needed to get you there. Positive visualisation – which a hypnotherapist could help facilitate – is another powerful tool for tapping into the subconscious. This can enable speedy processing of information and bring about your desired outcome. When used together, these two methods can be very helpful in bringing about desired changes in an individual’s life.
